It also puts a CPU figure on every plan: from 2 vCores on 2 GB to 10 on 48 GB, and their performance page counts CPU power in threads, two to a core. That part is a genuinely strong offer. Where we differ is how the bill works and what the CPU figure promises. Written by the paid competitor — every claim below links to WiseHosting's own site, check it before taking our word for it.

Who each one is actually for

WiseHosting is for people who want strong mod tooling and a polished panel out of the box, are comfortable paying for the server around the clock, and like a CPU figure on the plan card.

TrueTick is for people whose server is quiet most of the week — who'd rather pay for the hours the server is awake than a flat monthly fee, on a CPU share reserved while it runs, with the actual tick on the server page.

Where WiseHosting is the right call

• You want their mod tooling and panel. One-click installs, a modpack installer, a live player manager and scheduled automations — that's a real, well-built offer, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
• You want a CPU figure on the plan card. 2 to 10 vCores, from the 2 GB plan to the 48 GB one. Our pricing page doesn't list cores per size.
• Your server runs around the clock, paid annually. Paying annually halves the price — the 4 GB Creeper plan is $71.94 a year. A 4 GB server on our flat plan is $12 a month, so for an always-on server they come in well under us.

If mod tooling, a CPU figure on the plan card and a low always-on price matter more to you than how the bill follows your server's hours, this is a fair pick.

Where it hits a ceiling

• Flat means you pay for idle. WiseHosting's plans are billed monthly or annually — a server sitting empty overnight costs the same as one full on Friday night. A 2 GB server that's awake five hours a week costs $0.12 that week on our metered plan, and a 4 GB one $0.24.
• A vCore count isn't a reservation. WiseHosting's plan cards give a vCore count per plan, but neither they nor their performance page say whether that CPU is reserved for your server. Here every running server's share is reserved before it starts, and admission control refuses a start the node can't back. What that protects against is measured in our oversell benchmark.

Verdict

If you want strong mod tooling, a polished panel and a CPU figure on the plan card, and your server runs around the clock — especially paid annually — WiseHosting is a fair pick, and we'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

If your server is quiet most of the week and you'd rather pay for the hours the server is awake, on a CPU share reserved while it runs, than a flat rate that keeps billing while nobody's on — check the maths for your server or create one and watch the tick line yourself.
