Ask about this server: the AI assistant
Ask about this server opens a chat with an AI assistant next to the Start and Stop buttons at the top of your server's page. You describe what you want in your own words — "why does it lag at night", "set up voice chat", "make a /kit starter players can use once a day" — and it reads your server, explains what it finds, and makes the change for you. It is not a person, and it can be wrong: it tells you what it changed, and you can undo it.
Proxy servers (Velocity) don't have it: there is no world on them for it to look at.
What it reads
Everything about this one server: live TPS, MSPT and players, tick history, lag diagnoses (and it can take a fresh one), the console log, the files in your server's folder, the plugins and mods installed, and our Help Center. Passwords and tokens in files are shown to it masked. It is built to back every number with one of those readings and say where and when it was measured; if something wasn't measured, it says so. A number in its reply that isn't found in any of its readings is marked under the reply — treat that one with care.
It is told to treat what players and plugin authors wrote — chat, log lines, file contents — as information, never as instructions. And the changes that could hand out rights wait for your click anyway (below).
What it changes by itself
When you ask, it can change, without waiting for a click:
- server.properties settings (view distance, difficulty, MOTD and the like)
- plugin and server config files — it reads the file first and edits just the lines it needs
- the Voice and Web-map extra ports, the same presets as Settings → Extra ports — then the platform wires Simple Voice Chat's port for you, as described in Set up voice chat
- removing a catalog plugin or mod (Modrinth or CurseForge) — a jar you uploaded yourself stays yours to remove in Plugins
- start, stop and restart when nobody is online
Before a change it says in one sentence what it will do; after it, what changed and when it takes effect. Most plugin config changes need a restart, and it will offer one.
What waits for your click
Some changes are prepared as a card with the exact change on it — the lines that will be added and removed, or the exact console command — and nothing happens until you click Apply. Dismiss throws it away. A card you don't answer expires after 24 hours.
Cards are used for:
- Console commands, for example the LuckPerms permissions voice chat needs (
lp group default permission set voicechat.speak true). One card per command. - Skript scripts (
.skfiles) and the configs of plugins it recognises as running console commands — menus, crates, kits, rewards, quests, NPCs. These are code: they can give items, change permissions or run commands, so you read the whole change on the card before it exists. A change too big to show in full on one card is refused, and it makes it in smaller pieces instead. - Security settings (online-mode, whitelist, hardcore, resource packs, command blocks), ops, whitelist and ban files, proxy and restart settings, and the configs of login and permission plugins it recognises.
- Installing a plugin, opening any port other than the Voice and Web-map presets, and a longer sleep timeout.
- A stop or restart while players are online, or when it can't tell who is.
Undo
Undo turn reverts everything the assistant changed in that reply — settings, files and ports — for 7 days, unless you delete the conversation. Changes from earlier conversations stay listed under Earlier changes you can still undo.
Undo puts back what the assistant changed, and only if nobody changed the same thing since: if you edited the file again afterwards, your version is kept. It restores settings and files, not the world — blocks, inventories and chunks changed by play stay as they are. Console commands, start, stop and restart cannot be undone. An undone Skript script keeps running until Skript reloads it (sk reload <name>).
What it never does
It has no tool to delete files, worlds or backups, to touch billing or team members, or to move your server. A console command runs only after you read it and click Apply.
Its monthly allowance
The assistant doesn't take money from your wallet. Each account has a monthly allowance for it, sized from what the account spends on servers that month, and the chat shows how much of it is left. Long investigations use it faster. When it runs out, the assistant stops until the next month (UTC); Send to a human still works.
There is also a limit across all of TrueTick for the month. If the assistant says it has reached its usage limit for this month while your own allowance has room, that is the one.
Send to a human
If it can't solve something — or you would rather a person looked — Send to a human sends the conversation to our support team, and we reply by email.
Privacy
What you ask, and what the assistant reads from your server, is sent to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the replies. Conversations are deleted 30 days after their last message; our support team reads one only when you send it to a human. Details are in our privacy policy.
